The 22-year-old lady, Miss Oluwabamise Ayanwole, who was reported missing after boarding a Lagos Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle, has been found dead.
One of Ayanwole’s relatives confirmed this to The PUNCH on Monday.
“We are at the morgue. We have confirmed the corpse,” the relative was reported to have said in an emotional-laden voice.
It was learnt that her corpse was dropped on Lagos Island by a BRT vehicle and a jeep.
Upon sighting the corpse by the roadside, an unknown man reportedly informed officials of Ebute Ero Police Station on Saturday evening.
The corpse was later taken to the Mainland Hospital mortuary.
Bamise, who works as a fashion designer, closed from work around 7pm on February 26 and was on her way to visit her brother, Pelumi, when she boarded the bus around Chevron Bus-stop, in the Lekki area of the state.
The busman, Nice Omininikoron, was said to be conveying the victim to a destination in Oshodi when she observed that he refused to pick other passengers on the road.
Pelumi reportedly contacted one of her colleagues at work, Felicia Omolara, to inform her about her suspicion and she was advised to disembark from the bus. That was however the last time she heard from her.
Meanwhile, the runaway driver of the BRT bus has been reportedly arrested by the police.
