The Lagos State Police Command has announced that it has completed the exhumation of the body of Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Thelagostimes had earlier reported that the police had said they would exhume his remains to conduct an autopsy as part of further investigation into his death.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesman for the state police command, on Thursday, tweeted that the autopsy would now commence following the exhumation.

“Exhumation completed. Autopsy to commence,” he tweeted.

Thelagostimes gathered that the exhumation was carried out at the singer’s graveside in the Gberigbe area of Ikorodu in conjunction with some health officials.

Recall that on Monday, police authorities in Lagos inaugurated a 13-man committee to probe Mohbad’s death. The state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu also asked the Department of State Services (DSS) to join the investigation.

Mohbad, a 27-year-old singer, died on September 12, 2023.

Following his death, there have been allegations of assault on Mohbad by Naira Marley and his crew, with Nigerians demanding justice and calling on the authorities to conduct a thorough probe into the matter.
