Buhari Nominates IMF Executive Director As CBN Deputy Governor

President Muhammadu Buhari has picked Kingsley Obiora, an executive of international monetary fund (IMF) , as the deputy governor, economic policy directorate, who will retire on February 2, 2020.

Obiora would replace Okwu Joseph Nnanna.

The nomination was contained in letter sent to the senate by the president, Ahmad Lawan on Thursday.

Obiora is an alternate executive director in the Africa Group One Constituency of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC, US.

Obiora has a first degree from the University of Benin as well as master’s and doctorate degrees in economics from the University of Ibadan.
