Lagos state police has shut down Cubana night club for flouting COVID-19 rules.

According to reports, Lagos State Commission for safety sealed off Cubana Ikeja and other facilities for non compliance to the state COVID-19 protocols.

Disclosing this via his official Twitter handle, Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos wrote: “Just in: @followlasg @lagossafety and @PoliceNG Lagos State Command sealed off Cubana night club for disobeying the State’s #COVID19 protocols’.

Although it is unclear if the clubbers at Cubana night club were arrested, some videos published on the micro-blogging site, Twitter show police officers of the Lagos Police Command trying to disperse the clubbers out of the premises.

Meanwhile, the arrest is coming barely a day after Governor Sanwo-Olu re-imposed COVID-19 restrictions in Lagos State, where he noted that concerts, carnivals and street parties are banned in Lagos State until further notice.
