Presidential candidates of all political parties were, on Thursday, present for the signing of the now-customary peace pact ahead of 2023 general election.

The event, which was organised by the National Peace Committee, took place at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, on Thursday.

However, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu was absent at the event.

His running mate, Kashim Shettima, was present at the signing, alongside Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.

Also, Omoyele Sowore, standard bearer of the African Action Congress (AAC), was present at the event.

According to the chairman of the NPC, Abdulsalami Abubakar, the accord was to promote peaceful electioneering.
