How Otunba Segun Runsewe Became The Poster Boy Of Tourism And Art In Nigeria

There are times when one sector in Nigeria overshadows every other. Such a time has come for the sectors of tourism, art, and culture in Nigeria.

With Otunba Segun Runsewe continuing to do great things as the Director-General (DG) of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), it is no surprise that the sectors are at the top of their game.

There is no way to score the many accomplishments of Runsewe. Due to his innate humility, the man has to be pressed before he admits that he commandeered a show that shook the foundations of Lagos. Even so, his contributions cannot be understated, and indeed they will not be.

And why is this? This is simply because Runsewe has made more contributions that can be measured by, from, and within the context of any single sector.
You could say that it is the tourism sector that has benefited the most from Runsewe’s committed work.

You wouldn’t be wrong especially knowing Runsewe’s history and the fact that he used to be the operative figure in the tourism sector. However, the informed will tell you that it is NCAC that has benefited the most from Runsewe’s many achievements.

As things stand now, Runsewe has become a multi-sector personality, reaching beyond the usual borders of the NCAC and extending to the other industries related to arts and culture.

Being the smart man that he is, Runsewe has adapted his increasing popularity and used it to spread the cultural distinctiveness of several Nigerian areas.

All in all, it can only be concluded that Runsewe gives his best to whatever ministry, industry, or sector he is working for/with. That depth of commitment is rare which is why Runsewe remains the number 1 figure that continues to straddle multiple sectors as he takes Nigeria’s unique cultural varieties further and further.
