Visitors to the capacious Tafawa Balewa Square in Victoria Island on January 25 would have been forgiven for thinking there was a political rally by a major party’s candidate going on. Such was the mammoth crowd that converged on the scenic square for the World Anointing Night service held by Bishop Dr Chris Kwakpovwe.

The all-night event tagged “Story to Glory Night” was the culmination of the 21-Day fasting and prayer programme designed to enlist divine guidance and protection throughout the new year.

As the songs of praise rose up and the fervent prayers mounted high, heaven reciprocated in kind, flooding the event with a deluge of spiritual blessings as the auditorium vibrated with the thrums of thanksgiving and the thunder of testimonies.

From entry end to exit point, corner to crevice, VIP area to general section, there was nary extra space to contain a fly.

The event was jam-packed with people from all walks of life. Worshippers of multiple nationalities were united as one under the spellbinding ministrations of ministers from Manna Prayer Mountain and other invited men and women of God. The Manna Voices International Choir, as well as the Children Orchestra among other musical groups whipped up the place to fever pitch with powerful renditions of uplifting music.

The sense of expectation that had been bubbling as the service unfolded reached a crescendo with the appearance of General Overseer, Bishop Dr. Chris Kwakpovwe on the podium. The atmosphere became overcharged with spiritual vibrations as the anointed man of God liberally dished out prophetic utterances with the ease and conviction of a chess grandmaster.

Under the inspired ministrations of the foremost servant of God, divisions of rank and class dissolved as everyone became mesmerized. They became like students transfixed with rapt attention, eagerly lapping up the nuggets of spiritual revelations flowing like Manna from the lips of a timeless sage; straining their ears to the utmost, else a priceless word of wisdom be lost.

As he shaped profound verses from the Bible into powerful messages for today and prophecies for tomorrow,, it soon became obvious that the beloved bishop came prepared with a full complement of spiritual weapons to do battle with the ailments and maladies of the congregation. As words of healing rained down in a relentless torrent, various kinds of sicknesses abandoned their hosts by the dozens and fled. Even the spirit of sin keeled over and surrendered as numerous unbelievers rushed to the altar for conversion.

Dignitaries present at the programme included Mrs Oyindamola Ogunsanwo, a representative of the wife of the Lagos State governor, Mrs Ambode, who delivered her goodwill message. Also present was the Lagos State Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Mr. Jimi Agbaje; as well as Rev. Dr. Sam Ogedengbe, a representative of the APC Governorship aspirant, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu.

Others included representatives of the Enugu State governor and the Gubernatorial candidate of Adamawa State, Mr Emmanuel Bello (SDP). Additionally in attendance were eminent personalities and ministers of God from USA, UK, Ghana, Zambia, Cameroun and other religious leaders from different parts of the world.
