The Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Akimoyede Olafisoye, has debunked the rumour that lawmakers are planning to impeach the Speaker, Michael Adeyemo, for incompetence.

Akinmoyede said though three parties are represented in the House, they are working as one.

He added that the lawmakers are aware of the current national financial difficulties which made it difficult for states to pay salaries.

Calling on the public to pray for Nigeria, Olafisoye said the Assembly will work together with the government to ensure prompt payment of salaries.

He urged Nigerians to be patient as the policies of President Muhammadu Buhari will favour the masses at the end.

“Nigerians should support and pray for the President because we will all be living witness to the improvement that will come to the country soon,” he said.
