Ashiru who served for eight years under the administeration of former governor Ibikunle Amosun stated that he has “only remained a staunch stakeholder of the Party whose hand is full with the responsibilities of his second address”.

A statement signed by his media aide, Adedapo David and sent to Thelagostimes reads: “My attention has just been drawn to an online publication titled “Ogun Guns who failed to make Dapo Abiodun’s Cabinet list”.

“It is an affront to the person of Otunba Bimbo Ashiru to have been named amongst those who jostle to become Commissioners in the gateway state haven served creditably well in the last administration for 8 years as the longest serving Commissioner in his then ministry, with laudable and unprecedented achievements in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

“It must also be reiterated that at no point did Otunba Bimbo Ashiru lobbied to secure the seat of the Secretary to the State Government as contained in the watery and lazy media guess.

“As an Aspirant for the Gubernatorial seat in the All Progressive Congress Party, Otunba Ashiru Bimbo has only remained a staunch stakeholder of the Party whose hand is full with the responsibilities of his second address. Succinctly, is Ashiru the only one in the State, when there are other able and competent hands as well who should be given the opportunity to serve?

“Hence, I admonish that a thorough investigative freelance journalism should be the bedrock of any online media rather than a beer parlour guess work as contained in the release”.

Thelagostimes gathered that Ashiru contested the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in the state alongside Gov. Dapo Abiodun.
