Supreme Court Dismisses Nwosu’s Guber Appeal Against Ihedioha

The Supreme court has thrown out the appeal of governorship candidate of the Action Alliance in the last election, Uche Nwosu, challenging election of Emeka Ihedioha, governor of Imo state, at the supreme court.

The dismissal of the appeal is coming after Nwosu decided to withdraw his appeal against Ihedioha.

Counsel to Nwosu, Solomon Umoh (SAN), announced the decision of his client when he appeared before a seven-man panel of justices of the apex court on Tuesday.

“Based on the judgment of this court in appeal SC. 1384/2019 delivered on December 20, 2019, and subsequently, on my advice to my client, we have decided to withdraw this appeal,” he said.

The court was yet to deliver its judgement on the governorship appeal before Nwosu decided to back out of the case.

The court, In the absence of any objection from the parties involved in the case to Nwosu’s application to withdraw his appeal, then dismissed the case.

Thereafter, the court went on a two-hour recess to deliver judgment in the appeals filed by Ifeanyi Ararume, APGA governorship candidate in the last election, and Hope Uzodinma, candidate of the APC in the election, challenging Ihedioha’s victory.
