Senate Resumes From Recess, Holds First Plenary In 2021
The Nigerian Senate has resumed and held a plenary session for the first time in 2021.
Channels TV reports that the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan while addressing lawmakers on Tuesday, read the letter from President Muhamadu Buhari seeking the confirmation of the service chiefs.
He also read the letter from President Buhari seeking the confirmation of the immediate past service chiefs as non-career ambassadorial nominees.
The Senate however adjourned plenary to honour a member of the House of Representatives, Ossy Prestige who died recently.
Thelagostimes reports that the late lawmaker who represented Aba North/South Federal Constituency of Abia State, died after a protracted illness.
Before his death, Prestige served in the house of representatives ad hoc committee on eastern ports.
