Twitter Deletes President Buhari’s ‘Threat’ Post

Twitter has deleted President Muhammadu Buhari’s ‘threat’ tweet.

Thelagostimes gathered that the president, in a tweet on Tuesday, said Nigerians “misbehaving” will be treated in “the language they understand”.

“Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigeria Civil War.

“Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand”, he tweeted.

This tweet generated lots of reactions and condemnation from Nigerians, with many people criticising the president especially for making reference to the civil war in which millions of Igbos were killed.

In view of this, many Nigerians called on Twitter to suspend the president’s account.

However, Twitter on Wednesday deleted the offensive tweet.
