Police Rescue 22 Kidnapped Victims In Kwara
Police have rescued 22 kidnapped victims in Kwara State.
Channelstv reports that the victims were rescued from Oke Onigbin in Irepodun Local Government and Ekan Meje in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi in a statement on Monday said that the incident happened on Saturday when six armed men emerged from the bush and stopped a commercial bus with seven passengers, and marched them onto the bush.
“Efforts of the police led to the rescue of four out of the seven passengers”.
In a separate incident at Ekan Meje in Ekiti local government area, 18 passengers were rescued from the kidnappers in a bus except for two who are still unaccounted for.
The command’s PRO, however, noted that investigations are ongoing.
According to the police, a total of four victims are still with the kidnappers as they are yet to contact their families.
