Court Adjourns Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial Till January 2022

The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the trial of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu till January 19 and 20, 2022.

Kanu’s lawyers had staged a walkout after some of his lawyers, including an American lawyer, Bruce Fein, were denied access to the court premises on Wednesday, November 10.

Some Igbo traditional leaders, journalists, activists were also reportedly barred from entering the premises by security operatives.

Counsel to the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Mohammed Abubakar, told Justice Binta Nyako, that Kanu’s lawyers staged a walkout before the trial opened.

Delivering a short ruling, Justice Nyako expressed displeasure over the conduct of Kanu’s lawyers.

She declined to dismiss the pending application and rather adjourned the case till January 19 and 20, 2022, for trial.
