Over 10 persons including children have been killed while others have sustained injuries in an attack on Te’egbe village of Miango District in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Suspected herdsmen were said to have invaded the community in the early hours of Friday, setting houses ablaze, maiming and killing residents in the process of the attack.

A spokesman for the Miango Youth Development Association, Nuhu Bitrus, who confirmed the attack to The PUNCH in Jos on Friday said search and rescue operations for the victims were still ongoing.

He disclosed that so far, 10 persons who were shot dead by the gunmen had been evacuated to the mortuary.

The latest attack is coming barely four months after Jebbu-Miango was attacked,leaving more than 50 people killed and properties destroyed.
