Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assemby, Funminiyi Afuye is dead.

Thelagostimes gathered that Afuye, who was a representative of Ikere constituency 1 passed away on Wednesday.

The 66-year-old died at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital in Ado-Ekiti, the capital. He was said to have been rushed to the hospital in the early hours of Wednesday.

It was gathered that the lawmaker, on Tuesday, accompanied the state Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who just assumed office to inspect some ongoing road projects in the state capital on Tuesday afternoon.

Sources disclosed that Afuye was full of life during the inspection. The lawmaker was said to have died of cardiac arrest.
