Alfred Rewane’s Grandson, Adegbenro Calls For Support Of Tinubu Inauguration
A businessman and grandson of Pa Alfred Rewane, the late pro-democracy crusader and financier of National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), Adejare Adegbenro has called for support of president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Inauguration.
He noted that he is a Nigerian, and his tribe comes second, adding that his loyalty is his nation which extends to service to humanity.
“As a thoroughbred Nigerian whose roots cut across Chief Dauda Soroye Adegbenro, the late Balogun of Owu Kingdom, who was the Premiere of the defunct Western region, and Pa Alfred Rewane, late pro-democracy crusader and financier of National Democratic Coalition (NADECO).
“The road to Nigeria’s democracy no doubt was bumpy. it took the courage of democratic heroes such as Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Chief Bola Ige, Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Adekunle Ajasin among others who fought the annulment of June 12, 1993 elections and ensured the return of democracy.
Since 1999, our Democratic experience has been uninterrupted, it can only get better, no going back. June 12 crisis must not repeat itself. No re-election, no interim government. The will of the people must prevail”, he said.
He, therefore, called on all the aggrieved parties to sheath their sword, be law abiding, and rally round Nigeria’s president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
