Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been sworn-in for a second term in office.

The Oath of Office was administered by the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba at about 11:40am on Monday.

His deputy, Obafemi Hamzat also took the oath of office for second term in office.

Thelagostimes recalls that Sanwo-Olu, who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared the winner of the 2023 governorship election after polling 762,134 votes to defeat his closest rival, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party who polled 312,329 votes. The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olajide Adediran came third with 62,449 votes.
