Promoters of the musical said that it was brought back due to the high demands by its audience.
The play presents renowned musician ‘Fela’ as an activist, a musician who remained focused on his 27 wives, the Kalakuta queens. It explained why he married them and their influence on his music as well as his quest for social change.
The concert reflects on Fela’s quest for the adaptation of democracy to suit African culture and traditions to ensure even growth and development of African nations and peoples.
Fela was very critical of the wholesale practice of western democracy without infusion of Africa’s rich cultural and traditional practices
