FG Approves Travel Ban On NFF President, 5 Others, Over N59bn FIFA, CAF Monies
Federal Government has approved a travel ban on the President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, and five board members, pending when they would be prosecuted in court.
This is not unconnected to a scandal of uncountable N59 Billion, which was paid into the account of the NFF between January 2014 and June 2016 by world football governing body, FIFA and Confederation of African Football, CAF.
Authoritative sources have disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari may have been fully briefed about the monumental financial scandal involving the monies paid by FIFA and CAF to the NFF.
According to the sources, “when these figures were brought to the notice of the President in a report, he was terribly alarmed. From January 2014 to June 2016, the NFF got over $16m which they could not account for.
“He (President Buhari) was told that three NFF staffers were being prosecuted by the EFCC.”
Investigations showed that the NFF domiciliary accounts with Zenith Bank and UBA (account numbers withheld) received a total inflow of (USD16,417,761.00) sixteen million, four hundred and seventeen thousand and sixty-one Dollars from both FIFA and CAF between January 2014 and June 2016.

“The Federal Government has already approved a travel ban on the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick pending when he would, with some board members, be prosecuted in court any moment from now,” said the source.
Five members of the NFF Board have been scheduled to be prosecuted in court most likely next week.
They would be prosecuted as having participated in the improper documentation of the funds which flowed into the Glass House during the said period.
However, sources also revealed that President Buhari has demanded for the volume of monies from FIFA and CAF from June 2016 to December 2018.
Two agencies were given the assignment to compile and submit the report to his table within two weeks.
