Akinsiku of Lagos,Oba Dosunmu loses father
Popular Lagos super big boy Oba Dosunmu is not feeling at all super at the moment. The flamboyant dude who is close friends with most of the obas and traditional chiefs of Lagos has lost his father to the cold hands of death.
This sad development is coming barely few months after the late elder Dosunmu’s 80th birthday shindig which rocked the island to its foundation. Oba Dosunmu’s pain is heightened by the realization that he has now lost the second of two people who meant the world to him. His mother Madam Florence Aduke Dosunmu passed away two years ago and was given a very grand burial ceremony attended by pillars of high society.
Chief Adebola Olalekan Dosunmu is, by virtue of being the Akinsiku of Lagos, the custodian of the sacred Eyo masquerade. Known charming personality and mobility at high octane events, he is no mood to wear his party shoes at the moment as he silently nurses the ache in his heart.
Nonetheless, in celebration of a life well spent, Oba and the rest of the Dosunmu gang are determined to go all out in sending off Pa Dosunmu with the highest honours. There is already talk in some quarters that Eyo which only comes out for the burial of prominent sons of the soil might be involved as the Lagos high chief is laid to rest
