The spokesperson for the Buhari Campaign Organisation, Festus Keyamo, SAN, has reacted to the defection of the Director-General of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential campaign in the North East, Senator Saidu Umar Kumo, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Kumo’s defection was disclosed by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, via his Twitter handle yesterday.

“Senator Saidu Umar Kumo from Gombe and North East DG Atiku/PDP Presidential Campaign Council has dumped PDP and joined the moving train to the #NextLevel. #PMB4Plus4 is assured, in sha Allah!,” Bashir tweeted.

However, Keyamo said Kumo has fully pledged his support for Buhari’s re-election campaign bid.

In a tweet, the Buhari campaign spokesperson wrote: “The game is on! After recent mass defections of PDP leaders of North-East to join PMB’s train, today the latest convert, Atiku’s North-East Campaign DG, Senator Saidu Umar Kumo (standing to my left) was at our Campaign headquarters to pledge his support! Then, the trending 4+4 followed!”
