A total of 269 Nigerians were flown back to Nigeria from India on Saturday.
Thelagostimes gathered that Air Peace flew all 269 into Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja days after it flew 900 Indians back to India in three special flights.
According to a statement posted on its official Twitter handle, Air Peace noted that the flight arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport , Abuja at 1:50 hrs on June 13, 2020 and proceeded to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
It also noted that the last flight was on June 11 when 312 Indian nationals were airlifted from Lagos and Port Harcourt by Air Peace, which was the third direct flight to India in two weeks. On return from India, the airline airlifted 269 Nigerian citizens from India back to Nigeria.
Meanwhile, following their arrival, the returnees were subjected to compulsory 14 days self-isolation, in line with the protocol by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
The NIDCOM stated that all the evacuees tested negative before boarding the plane and would be re-tested within 72 hours at a designated testing centre of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
