Abducted Northern Qur’anic Reciter, Sulaiman Regains Freedom

Sheikh Ahmad Sulaiman, a popular northern Qur’anic recite from Kano state, has been released by his kidnappers.

Daily Trust reports that his release was confirmed by Malam Muhammad Kabir, who spoke on behalf of the family.

Kabir was quoted as saying the scholar was in good condition.

“Sheikh Sulaiman is on his way to Kano now. I can confirm to you that he has been released by the kidnappers. Alhamdulillah, we thanked Allah for sparing his life in the hand of the kidnappers,” Kabir said.

The report said Sheikh Sulaiman was kidnapped with five other Islamic scholars 13 days ago along Sheme-Kankara road in Katsina state while they were on their way to Kano from Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi state.

Recall that the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Katsina state Police Command, SP Gambo Isa had confirmed the abduction to newsmen on Friday in Katsina.

He had however, said that the police were making efforts to trail the kidnappers and rescue the victims.
