Atiku Abubakar’s Son Battles Wife Over Children’s Custody

One of the children of former vice president and 2019 presidential hopeful Atiku Abubakar, Aminu Atiku has taken the battle to secure custody of his two children to the Lagos High Court in Igbosere. He has asked the court to quash the earlier judgment of a magistrate court which had given custody to his ex-wife Fatima Bolori, and also ordered him to be paying her N250,000 for monthly upkeep.

Aminu, in his application for leave to appeal against the magistrate court’s decision, told the presiding judge Justice Kazeem Alogba that the lower court’s ruling was given without recourse to his constitutional right of fair hearing. He also asked the court to grant a stay of execution on the lower court’s judgement.

A magistrate court in Lagos had on January 11 granted custody of daughter Ameera, 11 and son, Aamir, 7 to Fatima on the grounds that Aminu failed to file a response to his ex-wife’s application for custody.
