The Federal Government has disclosed that the train services on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line will resume this month.

Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo disclosed this while giving the scorecard of his ministry in Abuja.

He noted that adequate security has been put in place to ensure the safety of passengers.

He however, did not give any specific date for the resumption.

Sambo said the ministry has learnt enough lessons from the attack in March which claimed the lives of several passengers leading to the suspension of train service on the Abuja-Kaduna route.

Thelagostimes recalls that the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) had, in March, suspended operations on the route following an attack on the train which was heading to Kaduna from Abuja. During the attack, some of the passengers were killed, while many others were abducted.
