Unidentified gunmen have killed Dr Chike Akunyili, husband of late former Director General of NAFDAC and minister for information, Prof Dora Akunyili.
Akunyili, a medical doctor was killed on Tuesday on his way from Onitsha to Umuoji at Eke Nkpor. He was said to have been killed alongside his driver and police escort.
Thelagostimes gathered that Late Chike had just attended a meeting of the University of Nigeria Nsukka Alumni Association (UNAA) where he spoke glowingly of his late wife who was a member and was on his way home when he was killed by the gunmen.
