There was chaos on Thursday morning as a clash broke out between rival groups of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, in the Obalende area of Lagos State.
Thelagostimes gathered that gunshots were also heard as commuters and residents of the area scampered for safety.
It was also gathered that several properties have been destroyed, while scores reportedly sustained injuries.
A twitter user, @MrB1704 who posted a video of the pandemonium, wrote: “Be careful out there if u are in Obalende area right now”.
Another user, @DE_COMMUNICATOR wrote: “Avoid Obalende right now. Thugs are heavily armed with guns shooting here and there.. RT pls”

Meanwhile, amid the clash, motorists and residents have been advised to take alternative routes, pending the arrival of security personnel.
