The Ondo State High Court, Akure has sentenced three persons to death for killing Mrs Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of the Afenifere leader, Chief Reuben Fasoranti.
Thelagostimes recalls that the deceased was killed by the convicts along Benin-Ore-Shagamu Expressway in the Ore Odigbo Local Government Area of the state in June 2019, on her way to Lagos State.
While four were accused of the crime, Justice William Olamide, on Friday, discharged and acquitted one of them and sentenced the other three to death by hanging or firing squad.
The convicts are Awalu Abubakar, Muhammed Shehu and Adamu Adamu.
Justice Williams Olamide found the trio guilty of involving in murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.
