Security agents in Abuja have reportedly arrested over forty men and women participating in the RevolutionNow protest initiated by the publisher of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore.
Thelagostimes gathered that the protesters had set out as early as 8 am to demand good governance from the Buhari-led administration. Some of their placards read, ‘Nigerians are sick and tired of poverty, corruption, injustice and untimely death’; ‘Say no to injustice’, ‘Yes to living wage for unemployed youths’.
Sowore who shared the photos of the arrested protesters via his verified Twitter handle, wrote:
”Nigerian security agents subjecting peaceful #RevolutionNow protesters to inhuman and degrading treatment at Unity Fountain in Abuja.”
