The Supreme Court of Nigeria has declared Ademola Adeleke as the Governor of Osun State.
In its verdict on Tuesday, the Supreme court upheld the decision of the Court of Appeal in Abuja which had earlier on 24 March afford Adeleke as governor.
The Apex court dismissed evidence of purported expert witnesses that testified in Oyeyola’s favour.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared that Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party polled 403,371 votes, to defeat then-incumbent governor Adegboyega Oyetola, of the All Progressives Congress, who got 375,027 votes.
However, Oyetola and the APC rejected the result of the poll and headed for the tribunal.
