In the spirit of Christmas, the first Lady of Nigeria, Dr. Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has distributed food items to the less privileged at Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Catholic Pro Cathedral Abuja on Friday 20th December 2019.
The items were presented on behalf of the First Lady by the Special Assistant to the President on NGO matters in the office of the First Lady, Mr. Wole Aboderin.
Delivering the First Lady’s address, Mr. Aboderin said Mrs. Buhari called on the rich and well to do Nigerians to always remember the less privileged in the society especially during festive periods.
She further stated that Christmas is the time to show love to one another as an act of kindness to humanity.
“As we celebrate, let us remember to share our joy with the poor and less privileged”.
The First Lady wished all Christians a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
In his response, Rev. Father John Jimoh who received the items on behalf of the church expressed the Church’s gratitude to the First Lady for her kind gesture and support to the less privileged especially during this season of celebration.
Present at the occasion was the APC woman leader FCT Chapter, Mrs. Hailmary Aipoh who also thanked the First Lady for remembering her children and extending her motherly love and care at the time of need.
She remarked that this meant a lot to the parishioners, the Church and the entire Christian Community.
