Weeping may endure during the night but joy cometh in the morning. For Halima, the widow of Ambassador Plenipotentiary, Chief Anthonio Dehinde Fernandez, the tears have dried, the heart has healed sufficiently and the smiles are back.
Halima has put her grief firmly in the past where it should be and moved on with her life. With her beloved Dehinde no longer around, she decided to go fishing for happiness by herself and caught a big fish in the form of her young Rwandan lover whom she married few days back amidst fanfare.
Lagos Times gathered that the guy whose name remains under wraps for now has the hots for Halima and she is also head over heels in love with him. Three years after Ambassador Dehinde passed on — September 1, 2015 to be exact, his former widow has once again become a radiant bride.
Nobody will forget in a hurry how Halima, who hails from the Maude family in Kano, was devastated then and cried her eyes out for the memory of the departed ambassador of repute. She was so inconsolable that not a few wondered whether she would ever be able to stop walking about in metaphorical sackcloth and ashes.
If the joyous scenes on Wednesday is anything to go by then Halima has finally decided to spend the rest of her days squeezing every last drop of happiness from life. The private marriage ceremony featured family and friends who oohed and aahed at the wonderful transformation in Halima in just three years.
The baroness of Dudley was beaming from head to foot like an excited young bride who has never tasted life’s sorrows or the swallowed the bitter pills of widowhood. No doubt the late respected ambassador would be happy for her from his new residence behind the mortal curtains.
