The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Wednesday evening, released the former governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, on bail.
As part of the bail conditions, his international passport was withheld .
Thelagostimes recalls that the ex-governor was arrested last week at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos, as he was preparing to board a flight to Houston, the United States.
This was few hours after he left office as governor and, thus, lost his immunity from arrest and prosecution.
The ex-governor was arrested for allegedly misappropriating N5billion Sure-P and N37 billion Security Vote funds, which were withdrawn in cash.
