Ex-Police Affairs Minister, Yakubu Lame Dies In Abuja

A former minister of police affairs, Dr Ibrahim Yakubu Lame is dead.

Lame, who was also an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and governorship candidate in Bauchi state died on Saturday night, May 25, at a private hospital, Daily Trust reports.

Nasuro Daraazo, the spokesman for the late police minister gave a confirmation of Lame’s death over the phone with Daily Trust.

The deceased was born in 1953, and attended both Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Ohio University, USA. He was also an elected senator for the displaced third republic in 1992 and was after appointed a senior special assistant by the then President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999.

Later on, the late minister became the minister of police affairs under later former President Umaru Yar’Adua.
