Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode on Thursday implored Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to resign within six months in order to avoid humiliation
Fani-Kayode issued the admonition this via his Twitter handle in light of the recent development in the Economic affairs of the country as President Muhammadu
Buhari on Monday inaugurated an Economic Advisory Council (EAC) which replaced the current Economic Management Team (EMT) under the watch of Osinbajo. The EAC will be reporting directly to the President.
The situation is further made unsettling and worrisome by the movement of some agencies and programmes directly under the control of the VP away from his purview. This development, expectedly, led to the whipping up of some conspiracy theories by observers, with some pontificating that the move is to whittle down the growing influence of the VP ahead of 2023 election.
It could be recalled that an online media, The Cableng had reported how a memo leaked from Buhari to Osinbajo ordered him to always get approval before taking decisions on the agency under him, which the Presidency had denied.
“If the short man doesn’t resign within 6 months they will soon be sending him to wash toilets. U came in on the same ticket, u sold your soul, u betrayed ur people, ur tribe, ur region and ur faith and you sucked ur boss’ rectum for 4 yrs!Look at what u got in return!Shame on u!,” he said.
Fani-Kayode who claimed that the former Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency 9NIA) Ambassador Ayo Oke took care of Osinbako accused the Vice President of selling out by sacking him.
He said “Amb. Ayo Oke, the fmr. DG NIA, took care of you. He paid your bills and protected you. He kept all your dirty little secrets. He gave you wise counsel and comforted you even when you shed tears and said you couldn’t take it anymore. All this yet you sold him down the river.
“Worse still Oke is no longer there to help you. Poor chap. Politics is a terrible thing when compared to the legal profession. This is especially so when you are a Prof. of Law. At least you can go back to your pastoral work at RCCG when all else.
“Your fingers have finally been caught in the cookey bar and your benefactors and detractors have begun their work. They have demoted you, humiliated you, used you and dumped you. By the time they finish with you you will wish that you had never been born.”
