The Katsina State Government has ordered the restoration of telecoms services in Local Government Areas which have been heavily affected by growing banditry and terrorism.
This was disclosed by Special Adviser to Gov. Aminu Masari on Security Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Katsina, on Thursday in Katsina.
The state government said the plan to resume telecoms operations in the affected areas is due to relative peace and normalcy returning to the areas.
The local government areas are: Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Kurfi, Danmusa, Dutsin-Ma, Kankara, Matazu, Musawa, Funtua, Faskari, Sabuwa, Dandume, Bakori, Danja and Malumfashi.
However, he said telecom services remain banned in the following seven local governments: Faskari, Sabuwa, Batsari, Safana, Kankara, Danmusa and Jibia.
According to Labaran, the state government, “decided to suspend the ban in the ten local governments as a result of the return to near normalcy, even as efforts have remained on the front burner to ensure maximum return of peace in every part of the state.”
