How Montaigne Place Workers Dupe Customers At Ikeja City Mall

Montaigne Place, an upscale perfume and beauty shop in Ikeja City Mall is fast losing its lustre as a shopping destination of choice, no thanks to the antics of certain shop attendants who have seemingly perfected the dark art of stealing from the same customers they are meant to serve.

The hub of trade has become the hub of theft and several affected customers who have been traumatized by the experiences have vowed never to return.

The latest episode occurred on Thursday, February 14 at about 3pm when a customer, Mr Lateef Olatunji made a purchase of Armani perfume with free Valentine gift included.

After making payment with ticket number 17507, he went on his merry way only to later discover that his package contained the free gift while the perfume was nowhere to be found.

Incensed at what he concluded was a deliberate and surreptitious theft of his purchase by the attending sales girl whose name is given as Alohanj, Mr Olatunji made a swift uturn back to the shop at L033, Ikeja City Mall to express his displeasure and demand that his goods be restored.

Instead of the apology he was expecting, he got the shocker of his life as the sales attendants descended on him with abusive words and insults.

Neither the attendant nor her conspirators owned up; they handed together and snapped at him like a swarm of angry bees.

The customer who had only been trying to retrieve the goods he purchased with his own money was taken aback at the level of vitriol emanating from the mouths of supposedly well-trained salespeople.

Coupled with the fact that his purchase was brazenly stolen and his dignity publicity trampled on, he is considering dragging Montaigne Place to court to answer for their crimes.
