The member representing Ngoroje state constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Honourable Bashir Mohammed, has been kidnapped.
A family source told Tribune Online that the armed men invaded the Jalingo residence of the legislator around 1:40 a.m., shooting into the air and left with him.
The source disclosed that the abductors are yet to establish contact with the family for negotiation.
“My brother, Honourable Bashir Mohammed, a member representing Ngoroje state constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, who is the chairman, House Committee on Information, has been kidnapped this morning.
“They came heavily armed and were shooting at every destination, they arrived around 1:40 a.m. and operated for five minutes.
“Up till now, the kidnappers have not established contact with us the family members for negotiation to allow him reunite with us,” the family source said.
Mohammed is the Chairman, House Committee on Information in the state.
