Again, the Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, Zamfara State has nullified the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which produced Dauda Lawal Dare.

The presiding judge, Justice Aminu Bappa ruled that the party will not field any governorship candidate for the 2023 governorship election.

Thelagostimes recalls that this is the second time the court will nullify PDP governorship primary in Zamfara.

The court had, in September 2022, nullified the party’s governorship primary election that produced Dauda Lawal Dare, following a suit filed by Ibrahim Shehu and two other aspirants challenging the credibility of the primary.

The court said it nullified the election because women were not represented as delegates which made the party conduct fresh elections with women delegates.

However, in the rerun primary election, Dauda Lawal Dare also won with over 400 votes and one of the contestants, Shehu Bakaoye again rejected the governorship primary election.
