Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom on Wednesday declared that the result of his samples tested for COVID-19 has returned negative.
The Governor said this while addressing journalists at the new banquet hall of Government House, Makurdi.
He appreciated the people of the state, his friends and supporters across the country for their prayers during the period of self-isolation.
Ortom also thanked his deputy, Benson Abounu, and urged the people of the state to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols.
Thelagostimes recalls that the governor who tested positive to the virus over a week ago had disclosed that he didn’t show any symptoms but had already commenced treatment.
He had also advised those who have come in contact with him to go for a COVID-19 test.
