The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Wednesday, presented the certificate of return to the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu.
Thelagyreports that the certificate was presented to Tinubu by the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
His running mate Kashim Shettima also got his certificate of return at the event.
Thelagostimes had earlier reported that Tinubu was declared the winner of the Saturday, February 25 presidential election.
The APC candidate polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat his fellow contenders – Atiku Abubakar of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 6,984,520 votes, Labour Party’s candidate, Peter Obi who had 6,101,533 votes and candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso who had 1,496,687 votes.
Of the 36 states and FCT, Tinubu, Obi, and Atiku won 12 states each while Kwankwaso won only Kano State.
