Kidnapped LASU Student Released

The 300 level accounting student of the Lagos State University, LASU, Olowa Kehinde, who was kidnapped along the Warri-Benin Highway during the weekend has been released.

The Public Relations Officer of the LASU Student Union Government, Adams Zaenab Olawunmi who confirmed the development on Tuesday night, said Kehinde has returned to Lagos and has been taken to the hospital for medical attention.

A close friend of Kehinde told The Punch that Kehinde suffered a cut on his head, with the wound nearly infected by the time he was released.

She added that the abductors had initially asked for a N10 million ransom, but later agreed to cut it down to N5 million.
