The Peoples’ Democratic Party Youth Frontier has called the attention of the leadership of the PDP to plans made by some opposing aspirants to collude with some members of the primary committee to hijack election materials meant for the party’s National Assembly primary election across the country, especially in Kogi East senatorial district.
This call was made in a statement signed by the group’s National Coordinator, Usman Austin in Abuja today.
According to Austin, investigation reveals that aside Kogi East, some other aspirants are bent on manipulating the process to favour themselves.
“We make bold to say that an aspirant, who’s a serving senator has boasted among his aides that he has perfected every arrangement to hijack election materials meant for Kogi east senatorial”, he said.
He called on the National chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, National Organising Secretary (NoS) and the entire leadership the party to look into this and ensure that the party allows for a level playing field for all the aspirants.
“We wish to state that Kogi state is a very delicate state, and Kogi east is a very important district in the state that our party can’t afford to you with. Already the PDP enjoys massive support in the zone and the state that the PDP cannot afford to allow to slip away”, he said.
