Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversion for the burial of the late former Head of Interim Government, Ernest Shonekan.

This was announced in a statement released by the Commissioner of Transportation, Frederic Oladeinde on Wednesday.

According to the statement, movement at Inner Marina to Outer Marina by Oando Filling Station will be redirected from 5 am till 6 pm on Friday. Also, all adjoining and feeder roads leading to Inner Marina and Nitel building will be cordoned off.

Oladehinde, in the statement, advised motorists to utilise JK Randle Street through Force Road to connect Broad Street.

“Inner Marina road/Odunlami Street from Outer Marina road will be barred from vehicular movement”, he noted.

Motorists descending CMS Bridge to Cathedral Church will be diverted to UBA roundabout or Apongbon for navigation to other Lagos Island parts.

The commissioner assured that security and other agencies will be deployed to all strategic locations and black spots to reduce delays and ensure safety.

The government appealed for understanding and apologized for the inconveniences the diversion would cause.
