President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan had sworn in a former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, as a senator.
Punch reports that Okorocha was not inaugurated on Tuesday because he had yet to collect his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The former governor will represent the Imo West Senatorial District at the red chamber.
The event took place immediate after the Senate had taken the prayers, approval of votes and proceedings at plenary in the red chamber in Abuja.
Thelagostimes had reported that Lawan and Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege were on Tuesday elected by the lawmakers as senate president and deputy senate president respectively.
