A lawmaker representing Kebbe Constituency in Sokoto State House of Assembly, Isa Harisu, slumped and died on Monday.
According to reports, Harisu collapsed when he arrived at the State House of Assembly to attend the day’s plenary.
Deputy Speaker, Abubakar Magaji (PDP- Bodinga North) who confirmed the demise, said he was rushed to the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
“When he slumped, he was rushed to the hospital, but he died on the way,” Magaji said.
Meanwhile, the Assembly suspended its sitting to Tuesday, Dec. 31, to attend the burial rites.
