National Grid Collapses For Second Time In 24 Hours

The national electricity grid collapsed again on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the first occurrence on Monday night.

Ikeja Electric, in a notice signed by its Management to customers on Tuesday, said restoration effort was ongoing, asking its customers to bear with them.

“Please be informed that we experienced another system outage today 15/10/2025 @ 09:17hrs affecting supply within our network.

“Restoration of supply is ongoing in collaboration with our critical stakeholders,” it stated.

It was gathered that the nation’s electricity grid collapsed on Monday evening, leading to a nationwide blackout.

According to a statement on X by Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), the national grid collapsed at 6:58pm on Monday.

Also, spokesperson of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, Emeka Ezeh confirmed the grid collapse in a statement on Monday evening.

According to him, the general system collapse occurred at 18.48 hours on Monday.
