Acting Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi has directed officers across the country to stop requesting Customs papers from drivers.
Issuing the directive via his Twitter account, CSP Adejobi said officers are only expected to stop such vehicles, search it as well as the occupants.
“No police man should demand your customs papers. No. Except they are on joint operation, but not just on mere routine checks”, he said.
He further stated that the force has suspended issuance of tinted glass permit, adding that policemen are not expected to disturb Nigerians on this.
“We are to stop any vehicle with tints, search d vehicles, and its occupants, but not to delay him for not having tinted glass permits. Report them if you are so delayed so that we ask them questions”, he added.
