The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has taken his campaign to Ibadan North Local Government area of the state in grand style.
The campaign ride, which was witnessed by the Lagos Times, saw many supporters of PDP, dared the harsh weather by joining the train from its starting point in Ikolaba, from where it got to Agodi Gate, Oje, Bere, Inalende, Sabo and finally ended at Bodija market, where the governorship hopeful addressed the mammoth crowd.
In a carnival like manner, the crowd was entertained by Fuji music canvassing votes for Mr. Seyi Makinde and other candidates of the party.
Addressing the crowd, Makinde promised to install street lights, tar all roads within the Bodija market to make the environment conducive for buying and selling.
He equally promised the traders to revolve credit facility to strengthen their businesses.
Meanwhile, the governorship candidate, had earlier paid homage to the Head of the Hausa/Fulani community in Ibadanland, Seriki Hausawa of Sabo, Alhaji Ahmad Zungeru JP, where he pledged to improve infrastructural facilities in the neighbourhood if elected.
Speaking with the Lagos Times, one of the supporters, who pleaded anonymity, said he was very optimistic that Makinde would deliver good governance to the people and offer himself for service to the state.
On the campaign team included, his running mate, Raufu Olaniyan, PDP Chairman in the state, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, former Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Hosea Agboola, Oyo South Senatorial candidate, Dr Kola Balogun, House of Representatives candidate, Ibadan North Federal constituency, Demola Omotoso, among others.
